Dear friends from TCEA, NCCE, ASTE, KYSTE and the many other conferences we’ve been fortunate to attend over the years,

One of the greatest privileges of running SchoolPHONES® has always been the opportunity to meet educators face-to-face. These conferences have never just been trade shows to us. They have been classrooms of their own where we listen, learn, and better understand what teachers and technology coordinators truly need.
That ongoing dialogue has shaped every generation of our headphones. In fact, the entire SchoolPHONES® concept began when teachers identified the practical design requirements that classroom headsets needed to survive real student environments.
Unfortunately, this year we’ve had to make a difficult decision.
Because of recently imposed import tariffs affecting the products we manufacture, the cost of bringing classroom technology to market has increased dramatically. For headphones the effective tariff burden is roughly 20%, and for some replacement components the impact can exceed 100%.
We were faced with two choices.
Raise prices and pass those costs on to schools…
or absorb the impact and find savings elsewhere.
We chose the latter.

Rather than increase prices on educators whose budgets are already stretched thin, we made the decision to reduce our conference travel schedule. The cost of exhibiting at multiple national conferences adds up quickly, and by staying home we can redirect more than $40,000 each year toward offsetting these tariffs.
That helps us keep delivering the same durable, teacher-designed products without forcing schools to pay more.
There is a downside to this decision.
Conferences have always been our best opportunity to meet new educators and introduce them to SchoolPHONES®. Our website was originally built simply to make ordering easier, but over time it has become something more important: a place where teachers share their experiences and recommend our products to colleagues.
In other words, you have always been our most effective marketing team.
Now we need that support more than ever.
If you have had a positive experience with SchoolPHONES®, please consider sharing it with other educators in your district, your network, or your professional groups. Your recommendations allow us to continue doing what we’ve always tried to do: deliver the most durable, classroom-ready audio products at the lowest possible cost.
The good news is that we will still be attending ISTE 2026 in Orlando, Florida. Our booth was already reserved and confirmed before these changes, so we’re looking forward to seeing many of you there.
If ISTE happens to be on your schedule this year, let us know you’ll be attending.
We’ll make sure to bring along a special treat for our longtime friends.
Thank you for your continued support.
